Google vs Digg Traffic

Note: This post is under construction because I was too lazy to SAVE AS DRAFT and hit PUBLISH POST before I was done writing. Please forgive me....

**
Ad revenue sharing network which can work with Google AdSense.

Click-Through Rate (CTR) = Clicks / Impressions
where

  • Clicks = # of users who clicked an ad
  • Impressions = # of times the ad was delivered and displayed
Cost Per Click (CPC) = Cost that an advertiser pays search engines and other internet publishers Per single Click on its advertisement that brings one visitor to its website.

Traffic source from USA and Canada
Visits from Asian countries like India or Vietnam are not as valuable as visits from USA and Canada or even Japan. Google AdSense, Chitika, and Shopzilla usually filter out sources of traffic. The traffic sources that make the highest conversion rates are always from developed countries. How to drive USA traffic to your blog is the question. Have good content and choose the best channel (e.g. Digg) where USA traffic can be generated.

The CTR and CPC from Digg are the highest of any source, even Google.

Digg traffic is 3 times less likely to click on an ad than Google traffic.
For RPU ads, Google traffic resulted in a CTR of 0.97% compared to just 0.30% for Digg traffic. (Digg traffic is more than 3 times less likely to click on an ad than Google trafiic.)
Diggable topics like Apple, Games, and Linux get Dugg a lot. This correlates with the demographic of the classic Digg user (college-going internet power user).

To get the most traffic from Digg, you need to have your posts most Dugg. You need to produce high quality content from a hot niche. Another strategy is to make as many friends as possible from Digg because your Digg friends are more likely to Digg your posts than strangers.
